Have you ever heard a song that just makes you want to explode? It just makes you feel so much better, and at the same time is a soul filled tune. Sometime music is the only thing I wake up for in the morning, every if I personally don't play an instrument whats-so-ever, I still feel passion and a fire inside me when I press play on my Ipod, or hit Start on my CD Player. There exist songs that make me want to cry when I listen to them, such as :
I don't feel it anymore (Song of sparrow) - William Fitzsimmons
Gravity - Lucy Schwartz
and pretty much any Bon Iver tune that I've ever listened too.
But there are also those songs that make you want to sing, and dance and just have a happy feel, that I listen to when I'm sad or i just want to feel better such as..
Happier - A Fine Frenzy
The General Specific - Band of horses
Bruises - Chairlift
It's funny how music can be a healer in so many different ways, but it can also make ones emotions spin out of control. When I listen to the song Kathleen - David Gray for example, I picture my life in the past, and maybe day dream about having a totally different life, Why? I have no idea, but music just has that effect on people.
There are songs that sometime make me wish I was born in a different time in life, and there are songs that make me want to be different, or better.
A bitter song - Butterfly boucher;
Some music, actually makes me dance when I'm driving, although I would never admit that to anyone, Night vision binoculars - Passenger, is perfect for that.
Luscious life - Patrick Watson; I can't even describe how I feel when I listen to this tune.
Some tunes carry out a story, if you've never heard the song Quiet In My Town - The Civil Twilight, get on that, because this songs story is touchy, and has such imagery it feels like one is watching a very sad short movie.
All this to say, that today, I needed every kind of song, whether it be sad, happy or a mix of both, because when one is not having a good day, or a good month, or feels like music is all they have on a regular basis, that's when ones connection with music becomes faithful and adored.
Chelsey.
