hard is my new favorite word..

Yesterday, Rah Rah released their newest album Breaking Hearts, and i just wanted to share my favorite song from the album with you. It is called Communist Man, and it is excellent. Unfortunately it is too premature for there to be a youtube video, and even on their myspace this song is not featured, but check it out.

A song i've been listening to a lot lately is called " Mykonos " by Fleet Foxes, its soothing and soulful and i absolutely love it.

Now, a song with amazing lyrics, is called Middle of June, now its ironic that i've started to listen to this song now, because well its june. It is by Noah Gundersen and his voice and the meaning to this song just amazes me.

Middle of june - Noah Gundersen

Time is a cold wind blowing through the leaves
Of a tired old tree I sit [sing?] beneath
Where I think about the world and I don't know how
What will happen to us now?

And peace is a ladder up to the clouds
That I'm wishing I could climb but I don't know how
So would you lend me a hand to the promise land
Where I made[?] it glory bound

And it comes and it goes
Where it's headed, no one knows
And we come and we go
All the saints and the liars, sittin' by the fire
What will happen to us now?

And hatred is a sharp knife held by the blade
It's cutting in your palm 'til you feel no pain
And burning in your eyes with a righteous rage
'Til the ashes blow away

And love is a thing that you can't define
Though you try with all your might through the riddles and rhymes
But it'll fly you like a kite; it'll throw you to the ground
But that's the best thing I have found.

And it comes and it goes
Where it's headed no one knows
And we come and we go
Like the winter and the spring
Losing everything just to gain it back again

And oh, how pretty is the middle of June? [4 times]

Home - Edward Sharpe and the magnetic zeros RAC Mix.

So, one of my favorite songs is Home - Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros. It's my favorite song because it reminds me of so many things. And tells such a good story, that is different to everyone who listens to it.
I hit the jackpot today, when I found this Amazing RAC Mix, free download on my www.last.fm account.
If I listen to this version of the song with my headphones on as high as I can, i feel like i'm living in the song.
Not only do the vocals play a large role in this song, but in this mix, the instrumentals are amazing. Probably one of the best instrumentals i've ever heard in a song.

Take a listen.

Home, is whenever i'm with you.

I'm back!

SO, Everyone, this sunday was the best and most eventful day of my life. I saw and met Royal Wood in concert, but even better, I saw David Gray live, and he was more than amazing. He was incredible. I have a video, it's not very good cause I took it with my iphone, so sorry.

ANYWAYS, I could talk for hours about how amazing that man was in concert, but that could be a slight bit boring.
In other news, today was incredibly hot out, 35 degrees really does not suit me, or my hair. I practically just spent my entire day listening to the song :
Home - Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, because it is actually one I will NEVER forget. The lyrics have been stuck in my mind all day, and it makes me so sad.
But anyways, sappy things aside, i'm super into Regina Spektor right now, her voice and music is truly amazing.

Human of the year - Regina Spektor

I'm so sorry also that i have not had the time to write everyday, i'm graduating, and exams and all this end of the year stuff is blowing up in my face, but don't worry ill try and write as much as poss from now on!

Lyrics.

So today my song of the day is Almost Everything - Wakey!Wakey!

I am not too sure why, but these lyrics always tend to leave a mark inside of me. I really want to share them with you. That is all about what today's post is about, reading and feeling. Read the lyrics and listen to the song, because I can guarentee you they will leave a mark in you, and if not this song, than another one.. because that is the power the music holds over us.. So here they are, the entire composition of certain songs, leaving out the amazing instrumentals are formed with lyrics, amazing lyrics, sad lyrics, happy lyrics even lyrics that tell a story.. take a closer look...

Almost Everything - Wakey! Wakey!

Said sit down with me before you go
That's the wrong thing I know
But I don't know when I will see you again
and it gets so lonely..

See you'd be foolish if you stayed here now
Maybe if you leave we could work it out
Cos i know the city only breaks you down
and it gets you lonely

see its gonna get lonely

so you miss the feeling when you step outside
yeah your mind comes all untied
and then you open up your eyes
and you don't feel lonely

see it feels bad now but its gonna get better x3 someday
see it feels bad now but its gonna get better x3 someday

yeah someday

see it feels bad now but its gonna get better x3 someday

Imprinted in my mind.

Ola amigos,
So I am going to be completely honest with you, I have absolutely no idea what to write about. So, I will figure it out as I go.
So I would like to hop onto the subject of the song Airplanes - B.O.B. Good song, but seriously the lyrics get imprinted into my mind, and don't leave and it is driving me crazy.
I find a significant amount of songs have lyrics that can become embedded into your mind.
Songs like, Pull My Heart Away - Jack Penate
The Con - Tegan and Sara
Cath - Death Cab For Cutie

And now that I really think about it, that's in like 2 days, well actually 1 considering its at 8 30 AM on Monday morning. Oye. Oh well, inspirational music, such as Comfort me - Eskimo Joe and Don't you eva - Spoon, aswell as I'm Shakin' - Rooney and Say Anything (Else) - Cartel pushed my through this study time.

Artist of the day: JJ Heller

Interestingly enough, this beautiful voiced artists musical career was made through her failed dream to play college basketball. It was her disappointing first year of college basketball that made her pick up her guitar in the previous years. I for one, think this girls voice is amazing, and she truly brings out the many gifts one can find in music.

Her hit single, Your hands, is one of my favorites.
I honestly hope you enjoy this song as much as I do, because I truly think it is amazing.

The lyrics are aswell.

Anyways, sorry for being absent of writting yesterday, this week has been hecktic, and it's only day two.

oh my,

Cheers.

I think i should try and read more books and learn some new words...

First off, I just wanted to start by saying, I need to Copywrite Home - Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, as well as Pirate Jet by the Gorillaz for Martin Roy, because he was the one who gave me these songs, thus I did not find them on my own. :)

I chose these songs today, because I feel like they are all jam packed with soul and excellentness. And today, I was feeling intense and my mood was a ragin' and so, you know just kinda fit like a puzzle piece.
I would also like to point out that my right now, my theme song just so happens to be today's song of the day " Don't you want to share the guilt - Kate Nash ". While on the subject, Kate Nash's new CD, My Best Friend Is You is by far, in my opinion, her best album yet so I highly suggest checking it out.

Home - Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros

Do-Wah-Doo - Kate Nash

Comfort you - Eskimo Joe

Pirate Jet - Gorillaz

Your Hands (Together) - The New Pornographers
